Oceana County, May 2021. This is near the Little Sable Lighthouse. I normally prefer cloudy days when taking photographs. The clouds diffuse the light and avoid harsh shadows.  But I'll work with whatever the weather gives me. Exposure time: 20 seconds.
South Haven, October 2014. I stopped here on my way to Chicago. A strong wind from the west created a lot of wave action. The wind pushed the water well into the shore. The seagulls did not seem bothered by the wind, or by me. Exposure time: 15 seconds.
South Haven, October 2018. This breakwater is south of the South Haven Lighthouse in Van Buren County. Exposure time: 30 seconds.
Point Betsie, January 2020. A breakwater near the Point Betsie Lighthouse.  Exposure time: 15 seconds.
Saugatuck Dunes State Park, September 2019. Waves from Lake Michigan break past a sand bar and spill into a small pool of water. The rivulet merges with the reflection from the overhead clouds. Exposure time: 20 seconds.
Old Mission Point,  December 2018. This is looking out toward the East Arm of the Grand Traverse Bay, not far from the Old Mission Point Lighthouse.  I think it's unusual that there was not much ice at this time of year. Exposure time: 20 seconds.
Muskegon, July 2020. This was taken during high water levels in Lake Michigan.  During low water levels this breakwater is completely on dry land. Exposure time: 46 seconds.
Little Sable Lighthouse, October, 2020. This red-brick lighthouse stands 107 feet tall in Oceana County. It's a little off the beaten path.  Exposure time: 60 seconds.
Ludington State Park, October 2022. Taken very early in the morning before any beach crowds arrived. The overnight waves had erased much of the previous day's footprints. It was very calm so there were almost no waves. Due to the absence of daylight, no filter was necessary. Exposure time: 1 second.
Oceana County, May 2021. Normally, things like these boards are positioned in the water much more haphazardly. These were in a straight line. They are a little north of the Little Sable Lighthouse. Exposure time: 30 seconds.
Frankfort Lighthouse, November 2021. It was unusually warm and calm on this particular day. The lighthouse is within easy walking distance from the City of Frankfort. Water from Betsie Lake flows through the channel into Lake Michigan.  Exposure time: 30 seconds.
Petoskey State Park, August 2022. Looking towards Harbor Springs. It's hard to see, but there is an early morning mist rising from the Little Traverse Bay. Exposure time: 30 seconds.
Elk Rapids, August 2022.  Some "big sky" clouds over the East Arm of the Grand Traverse Bay. Taken at the south end of the beach. Exposure time: 20 seconds.
Ludington State Park, September 2022. One of several breakwater structures north of the Big Sable Lighthouse in Mason County. Exposure time: 30 seconds.
Grand Haven, November 2022. The Grand Haven North Breakwater. The very strong wind blows water from the channel across the breakwater. No filter was used. Exposure time: 1/500 second.
Kirk Park, November 2022. Random boards and posts sticking out of the water. Remnants of . . . I don't know what.  Exposure time: 20 seconds.
